Could this be an issue with RAM? I have 8 GB and have no trouble with other games, so if it is an issue with RAM, is there a way to increase the amount of RAM KSP uses? I have the game on Steam and also use quite a few mods, but even unmodded KSP is almost as bad for frames for me.

If you are having issues with starting the game, this may be because the resolution of your display is lower than the default. I guess its my cpu coz ksp is a cpu intensive game. Make sure to change your resolution setting to the native of your display.
